NETME Centre

NETME Centre – New Technologies for Mechanical Engineering – is a centre based on high quality research and development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology. The major strength of the Centre lies in its capability to organize a multidisciplinary research teams and subjects of over five hundred Faculty members. Hence, the Centre has quickly established itself as a modern and collaborative applied research R&D  centre.

The Centre cooperates with leading universities and companies from both the Czech Republic and abroad, with almost 40% of contracted research consisting of companies from outside the Czech Republic.

MISSION STATEMENT

NETME is a technology integrator aiming to catalyze innovation in advanced manufacturing and mechanical engineering in the Czech Republic. We help to create knowledge that addresses growth, sustainability and success of the future manufacturing industry in the country.

  • NETME Centre currently employs over 380 research staff members (approx. 214 full-time equivalents FTE), including researchers, management, and PhD students
  • A figure of around 8.53 million € has been spent on contractual research over the past 5 years
  • The Centre generates an annual turnover of approximately 9.3 million €
  • A total of 25 million € has been invested in the development of the NETME Centre

NETME Centre was built with the financial support from the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovations within the project NETME Centre (New Technologies for Mechanical Engineering), Reg. No. CZ.1.05/2.1.00/01.0002 and, in the follow-up sustainability stage, supported through NETME Centre PLUS (LO1202) by financial means from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports under the „National Sustainability Programme I“.
