The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME) at the Brno University of Technology (BUT), the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design and Computer Agency, o.p.s. organize two partner events FabLab – innovation ecosystem and Autodesk Academia Forum 2016. The project partner of the events is the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC). Both events will be held on December 1, 2016 at 9:00 at the FME. During the introduction of project FabLab lectures will be held on digital production and innovation. There will also be available a workshop for 3D modeling Fusion 360 and visits to workplaces for 3D printing metals (SLM) and industrial robot.
“If there is a tool to awaken young people´s passion for research and development, and innovation and entrepreneurship, it would be a shame not to use it,“ says associate professor David Paloušek, leader for FabLabNet project.
The presentation will be given by companies DEPO2015, JIC, Happylab, NETME Centre and Y Soft. Each company will present a short lecture to introduce themselves and familiarize participants with its activities.
Event FabLab – innovation ecosystem is held under the FabLabNet project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Interreg Central Europe (ICE). The project will better contribute not only to individual FabLabs and networking among themselves, but also between regional innovation actors. The Central European network of FabLabs that will be created, will lead to intense trade exchange and new prototypes produced in FabLabs.
Autodesk Academia Forum 2016
The event will continue with the sixteenth year of Autodesk Academia Forum, which is held annually for educators teaching technical subjects at secondary schools and universities. Participants will be familiarized with the latest software for teaching students. Through case studies they will learn how to connect theoretical learning with practical skills and what hardware is appropriate.
At the forum participants will also learn how CAD technology is taught in the UK and can participate in two expert workshops – Presentation of the cloud Autodesk Fusion 360 and a case study Linking CAD technology with 3D printing, which will be covered by the company Y Soft. The following day participants will visit specialized laboratories of the University of Defence engaged in aerospace engineering and aerodynamics research.
