Additive manufacturing

The Additive Manufacturing team is well established within the NETME Centre. Among other areas, the laboratory provides support in optical digitalization, reverse engineering, and rapid prototyping in both metallic and polymer materials. The main industrial focus of the laboratory is in medical (orthotics), machine parts and typologically optimized structures for the aerospace industry.

Furthermore, the research focuses on free form printing of polymeric materials using robotic heads, and Ti and Al alloys in structurally optimized parts.

The laboratory provides support for structural and industrial design through construction and implementation of functional prototypes.

As one of the very few laboratories in the Czech Republic it has the capacity to work with various metallic materials, such as stainless steel, aluminium, copper and Ti alloys, using laser beam melting technology.
